Choosing Backyard Loungers and Shade Sails

The backyard is an ideal place to relax. However, you need exceptional outdoor loungers and shade sails to optimize your comfort and get the most out of your outdoor time.

It’s important to know what you’re looking for, as there are various designs, materials and decorative styles available. Here is a review of the pros and cons of the various materials and styles of outdoor furniture to help you make the best decision for your backyard relaxation zone.

Structure

Backyard loungers are either fixed or folded. If you have sufficient space, you should go for sun loungers with fixed structures. The fixed ones are more solid than models with folding joints. Besides, they tend to be larger and more comfortable than their folding counterparts. Even though they are fixed, modern designs have adjustable positions and therefore can offer maximum comfort.

If you do not have enough space for fixed loungers, go for the folded ones to maximize space. This way,  you can utilize the same yard space for other activities when the loungers aren’t in use.

Materials

With outdoor furniture, it is critical to select a model that is made up of weather-resistant materials. To guarantee sustainability, teak wood is the most appropriate choice because it’s tropical and therefore naturally resistant to heat and moisture. Moreover, it is also soft and durable, which further increases the product’s resilience.

Another good option is acacia wood. Acacia wood is more resistant to fungi and dirt. However, these two materials are more expensive and require additional care compared to their counterparts.

Naturals fibers are a good choice since they are resistant to sun and humidity. Besides, their versatile allows forming perfect pieces that perfectly integrate into rustic and rural environments. However, their braided surface can accumulate dust and dirt.

Synthetic fiber also works great, and many designs can feel just as soft and flexible as the natural blends. The quality synthetic fibers are capable of imitating a natural look, and are easier to keep clean.

If you prefer your backyard loungers to be light, durable and weather resistant, the best option is the aluminum structures. Their finishing of aluminum structures can be polished, tinted, or painted. Aluminum makes for very light pieces that are easy to move around. An added benefit is that it’s low-maintenance, easy to clean, and highly resistant to rust.

Shade Sails

Once you’ve got a nice set of loungers, it’s time to pick a matching shade sail, such as the Outsunny shade sail, to top off your outdoor leisure space. A shade sail is like a partial canopy that covers your backyard loungers.

Your options for a shade sail are broad, and your choice will likely depend on the style of outdoor decoration you’ve already chosen. If you select permanent chairs, you should also go for permanent sails. If your loungers are foldable, you may want to opt for folding shade sails as well, so the whole setup can be conveniently stored in the winter.

However, if you’re wanting to set up a permanent Comfort Zone in your backyard, it makes the most sense to go for a “fixed” version of both products. This way, you’ve got a shaded sitting area that’s always available without the hassle of seasonal storage.

Final Thoughts

Backyard loungers and shade sails are fantastic luxury items for your backyard space. Be sure you select them wisely to get the best style and quality for your money, so you and your family can enjoy them for years to come.

We practically live outside when the weather is nice. The shade sails are a great idea for the patio. Now if we could find a way to keep the cats off the lounge chairs, life would be perfect. Thanks for sharing the info!
